Have you ever wonder how you see on movies, media and Tv news that rocket can shoot you up into space. You go “Ohhhh, Ahhhhh, Wow, Hmmmm..” Impressive at first sight and your eye peer wide wondering how did they do it.

This is not rocket science to be brutal honest. It requires the best aerospace engineers, structure developers, scientist and team of world class lead designer to be able to build solid and stable rocket that can enable people to fly into space of our today’s present generation that mankind can journey into space. To build a rocket is not impossible task but requires time, tons amount of money, open minded sponsors and visionary investors to be able to see the future of tomorrow’s mankind. Then their hardwork will have paid off. The real underlying foundation is they start from a few failed tries and experiment. Fail and failed till the right model and structure are vitally sound to build a successful model. The feat is a giant leap forward for privately-funded space ventures. It is by no easy experience where no one can be able to feel, touch and say in your own words unless you have been to and fro in time or in space continuum. Then the words will be speechless and it will be etched forever in your memory for a lifetime till you die.

No amount of money can be brought with your vast in-depth experience and knowledge. It is not a measurement of your capability but distinction of experience and knowledge which is more worthly towards your personal growth. Only one thing is that the memories you can bring it to your grave but not your knowledge. Knowledge is to be passed down through generation or shared by world class scholars. That is what people call it a legacy if you have the power to etch in other people’s memories of you. That is more worthy of your cause.

Then again you have to think life always doesn’t begin with a short cuts but a detour. It is the way life works in every possible way. Life is always not straight but happens in different ways with different roads you choose. Be it bad or good that befalls you. Accept with happiness where you get to re-think and take a harder look about what is the best possible path for you to tread on in a benefitting way.

You can’t expect yourself to walk on a thin glass since it is fragile. If you find it impossible then find another way out. That is how life signals sent out answer within you. Don’t always think life is like a highway that has no traffic. It is not suppose to work out this way. There are times highway is freely available but always has a pattern. It is not like everything is within our control. There are times it is beyond our comprehension as to why we aren’t in control. That is why life always have a signal to sent a becon to us so we can realise and wake up from our own mistake that has failed before us where we get to learn the changes. It is paramount to having bigger achievement in life where this valuable luxury won’t happen before you. Knowing your limits with great care and don’t go aboveboard. There are things in life that is very hard to comprehend and be explained in words that related to theories of my incomprehensible intelligent thoughts where meaning holds far beyond our understanding. Time changes, vision moves, cloud wanders like a fleeting sound of mere seconds with distinction.

What does it mean by life is not rocket science?

4 reason of life’s comprehension:
1) What you know is not what you see and what you see is not what you know,
2) what you hear is not what you know and what you know is not what you hear,
3) what you experience is not how you explain and what you explain is not how you experience.
4) what you share is not how you can deliver and what you can deliver is not how you share,

Looking at these photos of my past, it was so fleeting. A fleeting moment in time where worldly boundaries doesn’t meet. Knowing bar none, it was a memory down the lane where people seems like a saint that I look upon them as a stargazer that never wither. A fleeting moment of time that whiz by a thousand years of a lifetime that felt like a yesteryear.

Oh my, I wish the test of time that flees from my intelligence thoughts never wane as I age. The emotional intelligence never crease to amaze me but failed to instill the intelligence influence that I long to tap my enterprise since young. I never knew why the world seems so big yet so small, so round yet so flat but knowing all people’s mind which has a different perspective views having their stories interwoven before their generation time that has never shared or has been spared a thought that has elapse like yesterday.

Even in world class university or best education system does not teach you how to face failure and deal with it productively. Failure is considered as an embarassment to many and a secret that isn’t discussed in public openly for fear people might think inferior about you. This is natural. It is a common traits.

Most people have been lead to believe that losing one’s job, not getting a merit bonus and not getting a promotion are in grave failures.

For example, suppose you got a job interview last week. You have just received an e-mail message from the company informing you that you have not been selected for the job. would it be fair to say you have failed? Or should we say that your performance in that interview failed.

If you think you have failed as a person, then you will label yourself as a failure and generalise this to other situations. If you feel that failure is due to something internal – your abilities for instance. You might feel hopeless, helpless, and depressed. For example if you have a MBA or in other degree discipline field and you continously update yourself by reading widely and strive to improve your knowledge. You took a driving test and have failed. Does it means your other achievements do not count?

Not necessarily so.

Failure is a judgement about events. Attribute your behaviour to a specific behaviour. Learn to say, “I did not fail but my behaviour failed me”.

Failure is not a comdemnation of character and is not a permanent condition. All of us constantly reinterpret our failures with different purpose. Do not blame other people for our failures. It is a role learning that we have to strive for “improvement not perfection”. Each failure has different purpose, problem solving and specification. It is better to take failure as an experience rather than resisting to failures or you won’t be able to improve in the long run. Accepting defeat is better than facing more problems later in life. It is better to accept challenge and be more resilient to face it rather than running away.

5 common cause for failures are:

1) Poor social skills
Biggest reason are interpersonal skills or social intelligence is one of the most important skill to acquire.

2) Wrong crowd
Sometimes you might be unable to adapt to circumstance. A successful career or in everyday life requires a match of your abilities, personaility style and values with culture.

3) Low self-esteem
Those who lack commitment slot themselves emotionally and tend to avoid risks. They have a job but often wonder why they are not doing better. If you have a half-hearted commitment and a fear of failure is a self-esteem which seems to be lacking. Failures destroy self-esteem and self-esteem can promote failures.

4) Destructive pattern
If you have a repeated mistake in life. Write down the particulars of the incident of the last few months in writing or journals which you have experienced in the past. There are cycle of self-destructive behaviour. In life most of us never see a pattern of what we do.

5) Lack of focus
By trying to do everything we fail to focus one thing at a time. People can fail to set priorities. It is common to degrade failure at something means you have tried. A good learning experience. Try to step abit back and relook at failures and ask yourself what lesson can be learned. In my case study, it is relatively true that many successful people have build their success on failures.

So get rid of failures and embrace boldly. Nothing to be ashamed of. This is life and failure is a function of personal growth and changes. It is often true that we often don’t have the best solution at hand but sometimes when you know it, it can have the resource for you to study the failures as a learning role.

Do kindly take unjust criticism as a disguised compliment. Successful people take responsibilty for their own action and lives.

We live in a world where things are changing. The seasons come and go. Tide comes in and out. Inflation goes up and down. People get hired and fired. You would think we learn that the underlying law of the universe is change. Instead we get angry.

Don’t be!! Live with it. The law is brutal and we study the law of nature selection. Adapting to change. In corporate world things changes, even expert get it wrong sometimes.

What is true today may not be true tomorrow, what works today may not work tomorrow. The only constant we have is change. It also comes with a price. Lets say if you leave home for 3months for oversea work. When you come home, you will find your kids have changed. Suddenly your baby is calling you “Daddy”. It is not a question of dair or unfair. Everything is moving.

Life is a gift that I wasn’t born intelligent, doesn’t have worldly sense, am not powerful speaker, knowing the life of ins and outs. I grew up knowing nothing, was very wilful, was innocent and stubborn, void of feelings, taking people for granted and to top it all not showing appreciation.

Now I came to one final waking moments. Life is always an art of appreciation that you are on a journey to face the stepping stone founded none than other answer within you that instill the dormant technical intelligence knowledge that is unfounded. So I went oversea to learn how to be independent, equip myself with critical thinking and knowing the hardknocks of life’s experience in-depth and finally found it to be profound that is too much to explain in mere words. I have came to realise I am so hungry for information where I do not have the thirst to stomach the media news that has been feeding people with all the misleading information that has bound peoples’ ignorance bliss.

Till now my learning is gradually an ongoing process where I haven’t yet reaching my capability to the maximum. I am frankly neither great or good. I just felt it was an heaven sent to test my knowledge endurance that has been hidden so well till now. I am still searching for the answer to my internal comprehension whether I am really capable or intelligent to deliver my message that still remains like a blunt blade which hasn’t been sharpened for years.

Having read it in Business Times (The Weekend) on 25th saturday. There is one articles that have caught my eyes and thoughts. There is something which I do share her viewpoints.

Her statement is somewhat catch my attention in terms of knowledge. It is very practical in a sensible way.

“Singapore cannot be internationally competitive and a world leader in semiconductor, life science, healthcare, education, financial service, creative industries and casino tourism, all at the same time.”

Powerful and brutal truth. It is like you can’t do 7 things at the same time with a pair of hands. Need to have the task at hand completed before doing another task. We aren’t gods. So do countries aren’t filled with supremacy. Take things step at a time. If done everything at the same time. The price of living condition also rise and Singapore government want Singaporeans to slog so hard for what?

Brutal truth is Singapore Government indeed do suck our money dry till old age. The side end of the story is Government benefits. Government didn’t even bother to explain in media news what the reason is all about. From general people’s view, do everyone think that government works harder than Singaporeans. Not necessary true. I believe, we singaporeans work way harder than the government. All the government collects tax payments and so on. Many other hidden reason which isn’t revealed yet.

That is why to this day Singaporeans is still somewhat naive. I am not pointing fingers or blame. Only Singaporeans know their side of the story and government also have their side of the story. I am not really going to elaborate on that. I believe Singapore System is flawed. It is not yet came into perfection.

Till then I welcome any feedbacks to what are your thoughts after reading the news that I have linked.

From my perception regarding about what “OHIIT” is expected to be? It is for my own personal self-thoughts and education to the world. Some audience might noticed that ohiit sound like “OH SHIT” in their subconscious mind or see things in different perspective way. I’m fine with the way it is. But to all the audience out there from different walks of life in cyberspace or blogsphere have their own views. People do notice things sometimes to be of insignificant value but nonetheless it will not bother me much because I don’t have to know when, where, how would people reflect me to be. That is not important for the time being.

I would like to pick the word “FCUK” as an example. To people’s view in subconscious mind, it also seems and sound like “FUCK”. Well that is their side of the story. But it stand for “French Connection in United Kingdom”. Very unique and it stand out. That is the creativity side. That is what became into a brand. It is really a powerful communication image.

It is not something within my control and change people mindset, opinion and viewpoints. It is your own self to take a leap of faith to whether to embrace what ohiit is about. I believe it is still a project work of my own to testify my thinking and analysis whether I can deliever a message. So I don’t have to take things too hard in the meantime if I am not being correct in the first place.

So now, I am writing 37 words of what the character are…

For now it is just a rough idea and is not perfected yet. I am still adjusting from time to time.

WHY……?

Because people are so busy with their work, friends, family, daily lives and is often overlooked by their personal views without any thoughts. Didn’t spent time with what they want to do with life that is enriching. People do have a job and I do understand that as job need an income to support their living expenses but it is always never enough.

Most job in the world offer a 9am-5pm or 8am to 6pm working hours. Some working schedule might differ from companies to companies. Have anyone ever thought of working smart and diversify their workload in a better way in your own personal time. I believe none. Ok, lets put it aside.

As one of the millions people knows that moonlighting is illegal while you work full time. Not necessary so. Unless you are involved in illegal things like drugs or whatever it is against the law. For a moonlighting business is VERY LEGALLY defined because need another source of income to support their necessary medical care, food and living expenses. To be honest in asian countries like Singapore. Government are really suck up. It is just too plain true. I am not going to elaborate further. Or it would be rather useless and long winded. Keep it to minimum. As the world might go into proverty one day but we will never know yet. So everyone have to think of a way out to make more money to enrich their days better as years goes by. It is not something that is acquired within easily.

It takes a trained mind and great discipline to master the trade of your personal benefits to greater heights. It is always a work with personal growth that comes with hardship and hardknocks

There is one thing we have to be aware…

Old rule of capitalism, it was financially smart to save money. In the new captialism, it’s financial insanity to save a currency. It makes no sense to park your currency. In the new capitalism, currency must keep moving. If a currency stop flowing, it becomes worth less and less. A currency, like an electrical current, must move from asset to asset as quickly as possible. A currency’s purpose is to acquire assets, assets that are either appreciating in value or producing cash flow. A currency must move quickly to acquire real assets with real value because the currency itself is rapidly declining in value. Prices of real assets such as gold, oil, silver, housing, and stocks inflate in price bcecause the value of the currency is declining. Their inherent value does not change, only the amount of currency it takes to acquire them.

It has long been overdue and Heng Long has gone IPO last 8th July 2008. So I wish my friend Koh Wei Kang in helping succeed his dad company through generation, take it even further and to greater heights.

It has taken Heng Long thirty long years to become what it is today started by his father Koh Chon Tong. But the nature of the business from the ground up to become Heng Long was actually sixty-three years long which was started by Wei Kang’s great grandfather. So now it is already the third generation. Truth to be told it took his dad 1 yr of auditing to get Heng Long listed. Not an easy task and it has been a long journey for Heng Long. Anyway I wish Heng Long an everlasting reputation. I am glad to know Wei Kang through my brother, Karter Lee’s introduction since 2006.

I believe he can be a great leader and a succession model for his dad company. Till then hope he can raise in ranks to the best of his abilities and capability. Everything is always a learning process. He is one humble person and is popular among his friends who he socialise and network among his peers in his undergraduate years in an Australia university. Graduated from Murdoch University. He has been through tough times before so I believe the experience and existence has made him into a refined person. Life is always a bumpy road for everybody. Heng Long is continuously evolving.

It has been through three crisis, 1997 – Asian Financial Crisis, 2001 – 11th September: The Day the World Change, 2003 – Virus of the Year: SARs and now 2008 – World Financial Crisis the forth.

Advantage:
+ Increased captial
+ Improved financial position
+ Reduce personal fending and guarantee
+ Public company status
+ Marketability of shares
+ Better employee morale and productivity

Disadvantage:
– Increased pressure to improve growth and maintain profit
– Disclosure of Information and additional compliance requirements
– Dilutes of control
– Listing cost
